Description of Rockey4Smart HASP

Rockey4Smart HASP is an advanced hardware-based software security solution designed to prevent unauthorized copying, execution, and distribution of software applications. The dongle connects securely to a computer via USB or parallel port and acts as a mandatory license key for running the protected software. Even if the software application is copied or distributed, it will only execute when the Rockey4Smart HASP is physically connected to the system.

The application communicates with the dongle during startup and continuously during runtime. Without the dongle, the software cannot operate—ensuring strict license enforcement based on the principle of No Dongle, No License. Rockey4Smart HASP also enables flexible licensing models commonly used in the software industry, including DEMO, trial, and SHAREWARE versions. Software developers can restrict usage by time, features, or modules, providing complete control over how the application is accessed and distributed. For applications with modular architecture, Rockey4Smart HASP Key allows protection of up to 16 software modules per dongle (with ROCKEY4ND supporting up to 64 modules).

Each dongle contains a unique hardware ID, enabling developers to bind software execution to a specific dongle and prevent license duplication or sharing. Unlike basic hardware keys, Rockey4Smart HASP functions as a powerful embedded mini-computer, equipped with its own CPU, secure memory, and dedicated firmware.
