Copy Protection & DRM
SOFTWARE COPY PROTECTION
Apply strong software protection against all software piracy threats. Perfect resistance to 1:1 copying, emulation, cloning, bit to bit duplication and other known copying, pirating and cracking methods.
TrusCont can protect not only software, but also PDF documents, HTML files, video and audio files and many additional file types, even proprietary file formats can be protected. Protected files open naturally and don't require any special viewers, players or passwords. Protected files are protected at all times and cannot be copied, not even using copy & paste or save as.
EXPIRY DATE / TIME LIMIT
This feature allows content owners to optionally limit the use of files until a specific date. It virtually makes your discs/content “self destruct” at a specific date. You can set the same expiration date for all files or different dates for different files.
Global passwords and on-access passwords can be used to control access to the entire content on your discs and/or individual files.
DIGITAL RIGHTS MANAGEMENT
Digital rights management features allow you to control what the end user can do with the content. You can set the rights to view/play only, allow/block printing and also allow/block copy & paste of text and images.
LOCK TO COMPUTERS/SYSTEM BINDING
With TrusCont you can also control on how many computers a disc can be used or installed. Alternatively you can control how many users can use the disc. You can even lock the disc to a domain. This will restrict the use of the disc only to the specific domain/office to which the disc is locked.
Other Publishing Features
With TrusCont you can store your files on a read-only partition so your customers cannot delete it. Overwriting, updating and even deleting the files is still possible using TrusCont software tools. However, you can set a 'Publisher Password' so only you can change the read-only partition. Anyone else will be able to use it only for reading.
It is also possible to implement a CD-ROM emulation on your USB flash drive. When your customers connect your flash drive to their computers they get a virtual CD-ROM drive containing your files instead of a removable disk.
You can allocate the unused memory capacity of your flash drive to a second read-write partition. The second partition appears as a standard removable disk on your customers' computers that has its own drive letter. You can also use this partition for storing files that require write access during the execution of your software.
Autorun / Autoplay
Setting a CD-ROM partition also enables true Autorun / Autoplay functionality, even on new operating systems such as Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
Updates and Internet Publishing
TrusCont tools also allow you to update your content even after it was published. You can create an update installation file that will automatically update flash drives that you already distributed to your customers – even if the original files are stored on a read-only or CD-ROM partition.
There are several types of updates that you can create. You can publish a free update that all your customers can use if they have your previous product, for example a fix to your current product or a free upgrade. You can also publish an update that requires payment or a license so only customers that pay for the update can actually install it. Licenses can be purchased, issued and controlled through TrusCont online licensing system.
Internet publishing allows you to create an installation file that installs your product to the customers' flash drive. The installation file can require an existing product or can install itself to a new blank flash drive.
Unlimited 1 Year License
TrusCont copy protection license is specific for each flash drive or TSFD. The license is valid for 1 year and allows you to protect unlimited number of files and overwrite the flash drive unlimited number of times. After 1 year your content remains protected, but you cannot protect additional files or overwrite the flash drives with new files. Of course the license can be renewed at any time for another year.
